So without many more words here it is.... This was super easy other than working with the elastic. I used Lauren's suggestion of incasing the elastic for the waist band before sewing it into the dress. It really helped and I'm sure it made it a lot more comfortable for her to wear. I plan on making a headband out of the rest of the fabric. So that's it.

That is absolutely adorable. Although I am a crafty person, I tend to hand stitch everything because I have never been properly trained on my beautiful sewing machine haha. I think a headband or even a bow would be absolutely adorable on her!
I love the dress! Good job!
I found you through MckMama's blog, and I am relieved to finally find another military wife! I've been looking and haven't found any, or at least any that I could relate to. Most were girlfriends, or newly, newly weds that had no idea what they were in for.
I would love to get to know you! I'm young, but I've been married for almost a year and a half now with an 8m old daughter. My husband is in the Navy, his rate is an FC2 but he currently works as an MA with the police department at NAS Pax River in Maryland. He works a long and ever-changing schedule, but it's much better than him being gone.
That's all for now...my blog is slow going but it'll get there.
As for dress making, I've been meaning to do it for months, just never got started....but I will! Eventually. Even if it is a prom dress when she's 17. :-)
